Moving 02:16
Moving (lyrics, G. Setzer) when you’re walking are you talking to yourself / words are moving disregarding anything / calculating without touching anything / like a number these clean symbols cannot be / i don’t know where i am but i know these things will always change / standing still or moving moments passing won’t accept the frame / assign them names so they remain this nomenclature can’t contain / like astro-turf instead of grass this simulacra builds no entryway / (its moving and its real) / when you’re moving are you moving is it real / can we access universals can we feel / numbers shifting, letters breathing without wheels / i don’t know where i am but i know these things will always change / standing still or moving moments passing won’t accept the frame / assign them names so they remain this nomenclature can’t contain / like internet instead of flesh this simulacra builds no entryway / (its moving and its real) / moving rhetoric and the clock both work the same / the clock dissolves into the words and it’s the same / the tool provides but this clean world does not feel real / write equations but it cannot be the same / paint a picture but it cannot be the same / moving eyes, moving ears, moving mouth

The Violence 03:00
The Violence (lyrics, G. Setzer) these things they take some time to sort through, for you i will do this / my mouth is moving but there’s nothing coming through the opening / phonemes form into displays that say something, or they pretend to / answer questions without answers, like placebos they deliver / one, two, three, four, five, six (the violence, the violence) / how it will resonate (it turns to silence) / one, two, three, four, five, six (the violence, the violence) / how it will resonate (it turns to silence) / place division works with words in order, they will tell you something / action and non-action build reciprocal communication / space between the utterance differentiates the page from symbol / qualitative recognition, swaying circles manufacture / one, two, three, four, five, six (the violence, the violence) / how it will resonate (it turns to silence) / one, two, three, four, five, six (the violence, the violence) / how it will resonate (it turns to silence) / enter worlds through these conclusions, like assumptions, they will tell you / opposing values render finite lines on finite spaces that are / platforms built for standing on to gain perspective through procedure / a constant stream of text would not allow for these investigations / the underlying space can still account for multiplicity
5.
Atomic 02:11
Atomic (lyrics, G. Setzer) the microscope can see scraps that build our every move / but can we identify with reduced identity / where are we, what are we, who are we, what do we do and how should we do it? / soft machines, abstract needs / why don’t we, fall apart into sub-atomic pieces? / as crazy as it sounds these atomic structures bounce / and their meaning is implied when we operate ourselves / where are we, what are we, who are we, what do we do and how should we do it? / soft machines, abstract needs / why don’t we, fall apart into sub-atomic pieces? / why don’t we fall apart? (we are falling apart) / involuntary glue between the pieces of ourselves / and we orchestrate the path commanding every little piece / where are we, what are we, who are we, what do we do and how should we do it? / soft machines, abstract needs / why don’t we, fall apart into sub-atomic pieces? / millions of them sing in this one majestic voice / and our action can reveal that our choice won’t be unheard / where are we, what are we, who are we, what do we do and how should we do it? / soft machines, abstract needs / why don’t we, fall apart into sub-atomic pieces? / why don’t we fall apart? (we are falling apart) / (i like what i say, don’t like what i do, if i do it right, i’ll be just like you)

And You Go 02:27
And You Go (lyrics, G. Setzer) this planet of mystery we enter without vision / we are exposed to many types of information / a steady flow, i saw you drown in your conclusions / these forms are hollow you can fill them up with almost anything / it might not matter what the substance is all matter is the same / so when your reason goes away away away away / please pay attention to the things i say i say i say / and you go and you go and you go / and you go and you go and you go / we have no history, our eyes are always open / disjointed bones we pile and hope they reawaken / look through the shadows as this surface is no record / these forms are hollow you can fill them up with almost anything / it might not matter what the substance is all matter is the same / so when your reason goes away away away away / please pay attention to the things i say i say i say / and you go and you go and you go / and you go and you go and you go

March On 02:50
March On (lyrics, A. Ranville & G. Setzer) bind together with copper wire / these hybrid human bones / forge a fake within the fire / as to never live alone / invoke the myths of gods and gears / this hardly holy construction / move forward still, absorb the fears / insuring our destruction / (we will) / march on march on march on (into the cold ground) / march on march on march on (over body and sound) / march on march on march on / march on march on march on / it walks like me, it talks like me / its manner is the same / identical automaton / programmed to know its name / if we divide, can we divide / our consciousness from action / we replicate and simulate / progress with no distraction / (we will) / march on march on march on (into the cold ground) / march on march on march on (over body and sound) / march on march on march on / march on march on march on / the state of states necessitates / robotic interaction / locate the mode that fosters drive / the body is the fraction / electric self, provides the mind / a body counterpart / we separate the mind from drive / the background plays its part / (we will) / march on march on march on (into the cold ground) / march on march on march on (over body and sound) / march on march on march on / march on march on march on
15.
Slowly Everything (lyrics, G. Setzer) in this structure, contained activity / the walls and architecture, retention / a floor plan history / it’s lines will circumscribe / my anatomy / and I don’t see the difference / between my feet and architecture / the patterns shifting / walls recording / these symptomatic signs of lines / and we are becoming / translucent, transparent (integrated) / translucent, transparent (integrated)

Canada's Electric Tiger Machine Bowling Green, Ohio

Canada's Electric Tiger Machine met at Bowling Green State University where, Haehn, Buckholz, and Ranville were art students and Setzer was a Visiting Instructor. Formed in 2003, their live shows were immediately heralded for their high-energy delivery and bizarre stage "happenings." C.E.T.M. disbanded in 2005; with members now in Illinois, Arizona, Ohio, and Michigan, a reunion is unlikely. ... more
