The New Microcosmic Regionalism (lyrics by G. Setzer)

I can’t climb up
Because these chairs are thin
And if the legs give in
We let the labyrinth in
And we don’t know what that might lead to
After all these walls are see through
Wobbling piles of chairs we cling to
So we sway, we swing and mean to

What will we leave behind?
What is it we leave behind; it’s rhizomatic every time

They’re forming disparate piles
That seem to not connect
But that disconnect
Is of course, suspect
This glass familiarity
Does not obstruct these piles we seek
We might not touch infinity
But hands can hold it’s thick theory
Abridged, but real, reality
So we see these seams they seem to say

Microcosm / macrocosm
Call me Mr. Microcosm
Microcosm / macrocosm
Call me Mr. Microcosm—I am Mr. Microcosm

What will we leave behind?
What is it we leave behind; it’s rhizomatic every time
What will we leave behind?
What is it we leave behind; it’s rhizomatic every time

C.E.T.M. disbanded in 2005; with members now in Illinois, Arizona, Ohio, and Michigan, a reunion is unlikely. ... more
